Discovering LOTT

Last Saturday I almost accidentally found the LOTT Bazaar, ‘a community shop for talented crafters to rent a space to sell their handcrafted goods and paintings. ‘ It’s in Leamington Old Town, under the railway bridge, on 37 Clements Street. I was greeted by the charismatic smile of Lynne from ‘This is My Art and Soul‘ who is one of the exhibiting artists. I was invited to sit by Georgina, one of the founders of LOTT, and she shared that she hopes it will give the opportunity of local artists and crafters to exhibit and sell their work, and for people it will give one more art space to visit and fill their life with colour. They will be holding regular craft workshops which will liven up the place. I loved the hand-knitted toys – little owls, penguins, rabbits, bears – and got one for the daughter of a friend.

As some of you probably know, I create my paintings at my home studio in my living room which is unfortunately not entirely visitor-friendly. I’ve been dreaming to take part in Warwickshire Open Studios now for nearly three years but unfortunately the venue(the lack of it) was always the thing that was stopping me. And now this little art place was presenting me with an opportunity to finally take the leap and just do it. So I’m excited to announce I am actually doing it!

Details about my participation can now be found on the event page on Facebook – Silvena at Warwickshire Open Studios 2018. I will be demonstrating my painting on Saturday 16th June, Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th June from 11:00am to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at LOTT Bazaar. It’s also a great opportunity to meet more wonderful people and answer questions about how my paintings come to life. However, if you can’t make it for the demonstration days, my artworks will be on Display at LOTT from 16th June to 30th June, Tuesday – Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

This was also a chance for me to put a stand with some of my prints and new colourful greeting cards featuring my most recent artworks from ‘My Dark Companion‘ exhibition. My first limited edition print of the painting ‘Moth’ is now on display. To be very frank I barely got any sleep in the last couple of nights, struggling to contain the excitement of planning a little stall at LOTT. Information about the stand and the opening times of the shop can be found here.

Thanks for reading and hope your day is filled with sunshine! : )
